Space instruments gather scientific information to explore new planets, moons and our solar system and beyond. At SwRI, we design, fabricate, integrate and test space mission instruments that measure space plasma, particles, ultraviolet lights (UVs), high and low energy and perform remote sensing.

We provide in-situ measurement of space plasmas, the dilute ionized gases that. SwRI develops space instruments that help measure and quantify the unique characteristics of distant planets and objects in our solar system and beyond.

Our scientists developed instruments and related avionics systems that have flown on over 50 commercial and government-related space missions, providing a basis for research that helps expand.

This book offers a balanced overview of the fundamental theory and instrumentation of NIR spectroscopy, introducing the material in a readily comprehensible manner. A considerable part of the text is dedicated to practical applications, including sample preparation and investigations of polymers, textiles, drugs, food and animal feed.
